I visited Jaemi Nash at the lovely Tamalpais Adult School (TAS) on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. The Program Coordinator of ABE/ASE & GED, Jaemi has been working hard to increase the use of technology in the classroom in order to improve student engagement and prepare staff and students for the 2014 GED exam.
During a tour of the school, Jaemi showed me 2 Smart boards and a laptop cart available for classroom use. Despite their availability, however, neither technology is used regularly in any TAS classes. After the tour, Jaemi and I discussed the agency-wide, program and classroom technology goals she'd outlined in her project plan and talked about prioritizing and paring them down to ensure a manageable and successful project.
Jaemi is fully committed to increasing the use of technology at TAS and I look forward supporting her in her efforts this year!
